The 2016 Hugo awards are underway and we are all wondering who will win the awards.
The top two nominees will be announced on January 25, 2017, and this year’s awards have been dubbed the “Hugo for Literature” awards, for reasons I will explain below.
The Hugos are awarded for best novel or short story.
The winning book or short fiction must be published within the last five years.
The winner of the Hugo for Drama, short story, or novella will be awarded the Hugo Award for best play.
The Hugo for Art will be given to the winner of a short story that is the most original, originality-rich work of literature, art, or culture published within any ten-year period (the rules for this are more complicated than what we will explain in this article).
A winner of any other award will be selected in a national competition.
The winners of each of these awards will be honored at the end of January.
I’m sure you can guess who the winners are already.
So, what is a Hugo for Literature, short fiction, and play?
The term “Hugos for Literature,” used to describe the literary prizes, was introduced by the Academy of Science Fiction and Fantasy in 1984, and was officially adopted in 2018.
This means that a book is eligible if it: (a) is written or published within a 10-year time frame (such as ten years from the date of publication); (b) is published by a literary agent or publishing house with a publishing agreement with the Academy; (c) has been published by the same author for at least five years; and (d) is a literary achievement of greater than a single work.
For each of the categories above, the Academy has created a list of nominees.
The winners of the 2018 Hugo Awards were announced on February 3, 2018, and I am sure many of you are looking forward to voting for the winners this year.
But you don’t have to worry, because there is an easy way to enter the 2018 winners.
You can enter the Hugo Awards by filling out this form.
The form asks for your name, age, email address, and postal code.
If you dont know your email address or postal code, you can find it here.
Once you submit your name and email address to the form, you will be able to enter your nomination.
Here are some of the things you need to do: Include a brief description of the work you are nominating and/or award.
Submit a synopsis of your novel or story, including a synopsis and/ or short stories.
Inform the Academy that you will not be voting for your own novel.
Give at least one paragraph of your nomination to explain why your nomination is a good one.
Tell the Academy why you are not voting for another book, or an author.
To vote, just click the “Vote Now” button in the top right corner of the form.
As I mentioned above, you have until January 25 to enter a nomination.
I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.
Before you do, you should read this article to learn more about the 2018 Hugos.
Remember, this is the same process that I used to win the 2017 Hugo Awards.
I won the Hugo award for Best Novel for The Hunchback of Notre Dame, a book that was published between 1991 and 1993.
What I learned from that win is that I will use that win to get back on track, and I will also be making sure that I make sure I nominate every book that I write. Now, lets go into the 2018 Awards!
I will be talking to three different winners of this years Hugo Awards, so be sure to check back for the latest news.
I have also posted a full list of the winners of The Amazing Stories Award.
Congratulations to all of the nominees for this year, and thanks for reading this article.
