The Last Movies director Scott Derrickson said he was looking forward to playing a part in the sci-fi movie, but only after he’s seen it.
“The movie’s been in the works for quite a while and we’ve been very close to shooting for years now, but it’s time to actually do it,” Derricksons said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“The movie needs to be completed, so I think I need to see it.”
Derricksons’ last big-screen collaboration was 2016’s Jurassic Park, which he co-wrote with director Colin Trevorrow and Bryce Dallas Howard.
In 2017, Derricksson directed the third installment of his Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens trilogy, which grossed more than $5 billion at the box office.
The Last Movie, which opens on Dec. 11, stars Robert De Niro, Emily Blunt, Jesse Eisenberg, Jamie Foxx, Dwayne Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson, and Dwayne Rudd.
The film is set in 2027 and is about the rise of a “global super corporation” called The Last Man, who controls the skies and the oceans and is on the verge of conquering the Earth.
It stars Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Emma Watson, Michael Fassbender, Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, and Andy Serkis.
