It’s been a tough year for movie theaters across the country, with several shutting their doors, canceling events and pulling their content altogether.
Now, some theaters are making good on their threats to close.
Netflix, RoadHouse Films and Tyco Media have announced plans to debut new films, and they will premiere their titles at their new home on Sept. 23.
In a press release, Roadhouses said it will launch two new films: “The Bully,” from Tyco, and “The House,” from Roadhouse’s Roadhouse Cinema, which is owned by Tyco.
Tyco has been building theaters across Los Angeles and the Bay Area, including the Roadhouse Theater in Inglewood, where the Roadhouses films have been available since 2016.
The Roadhouse has a total of 15 theaters across North America, including four in the Los Angeles area.
The films will be released through Netflix’s new streaming platform, “The First 100 Days.”
Roadhouse Cinemas will be the first movie theater to make its debut on Netflix, and it will debut in a different location to those in its existing locations.
“We want to be as innovative as possible in our new partnership with Netflix and Tycos brand, and we’re looking forward to launching our first two titles to audiences who want to see the films in a new, more immersive way,” said Robert Vitti, co-founder and CEO of Tyco Films, in a statement.
The film “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” will be available at Roadhouse and Roadhouse is offering the title “Roadhouse Films” for $3.99.
“Roadhouses has a rich history in cinema, and now we are thrilled to be able to launch the film that started it all,” said Tyco co-founders Brian Miller and Jason Vittri, in the release.
“The film’s unique style, which combines humor and emotion, will have audiences looking forward for more.”
“RoadHouse Films” stars Kevin Costner and Will Ferrell as a couple living in a small, ramshackle house in rural Louisiana.
“Kevin Costner’s The Boy in Striped Pants is a perfect fit for Roadhouse.
This movie is a unique blend of humor and emotional engagement,” said Vittni.
“It will delight audiences with the unique and funny moments that are created by Kevin and Will.
Roadhouse will also offer a selection of Roadhouse films for fans to stream and enjoy on Netflix.”
The Roadhouses “The D.J.s” films, which will debut at Roadhouses, are titled “Road House: A Musical” and “Road house is a musical.”
The film is based on the memoirs of a young man who lives in a ramshack in rural South Carolina.
“This film has been a dream of mine since I first heard about Roadhouse in 2016,” said Ryan Minton, co co-producer of “The Roadhouse D.j.” and “A Musical,” in the press release.
The D. J.s are a small band from the small town of Rockingham, South Carolina who perform in an arena and play songs off a cassette tape.
The band’s name comes from a reference to their songs, which include “It’s So Quiet.”
songs are now available for streaming on Spotify.
The rest of the films are set to be released on September 23, 2017.
Roadhouses plans to unveil the films as part of its “Roadhomes Summer Festival.”
