New Westgate Cinemas in Hyderabad and Bengaluru have reopened after a prolonged blackout by the Indian government.
The AMC Cinemas, located in the western part of the city, will be open until March 24.
The AMC Westgate, located at the western end of the metro, will also reopen on March 24, the city’s transport department said in a statement on Sunday.
Cinemas in Mumbai and Chennai will remain shut for several hours as they are undergoing refurbishment.
The Mumbai Cinemas will open on March 28, while the Chennai Cinemas and the Kolkata Cinemas are expected to be back on March 30.
The Westgate Cinema will be opened at 10 am and will be operated by the AMC Cinemacas.
It will be the only cinema that will be run by AMC.
The Mumbai Cinemacades in the east of the metropolis have also been shut since last March, when the country suffered an unprecedented blackout caused by the reopening of the World Trade Centre on New York City’s ground floor.
